Saturday Kitchen

I love to make my own homemade milk… 1. Its cheaper 2. There are not nasty preservatives or sugar added.

Great for making hot cocoa, smoothies and latte’s

Almond Milk

2 cups almonds (soaked for at least 4 hours)

1.5l water (I put mine through the Brita to clean the chemicals out of the tap water)

½ teaspoon Himalayan pink crystal salt

Blend all ingredients together, letting the residue settle then blending again.

Strain the milk through cheesecloth or a fine sieve in to a jug or bowl or just decant in to the jug and have a few surprise lumps in your drink.

Store in an airtight container. Keeps well for 2-3 days if it lasts that long.

The milk will still have some bits in it, it’s not ideal to add to tea as it can look like it has separated. The milk may separate in the fridge so shake before use.

Happy Saturday
