Day 12 Start Journaling
Just over a year ago now I got a journal. It is a 5 year diary that you can just start whenever, you put the year in next to the date and write a couple of lines about your day.
I use it mostly for my 3 gratitude’s for the day but also for anything significant that happened on that particular day.
It means that each year you complete you can see exactly what you did or how you were feeling in the previous years. I can’t believe how quickly the year came round. What happened a year ago feels like only a couple of months ago.
When you look back at all the things you have come through and achieved in the last few months never mind year, you need to remember to stop for a minute and just appreciate just how far you have come.
If its something you haven’t even thought about, take some time to list off your achievements, the struggles you have overcome, and the goals that you met or didn’t just meet but smashed and appreciate the ones you are working towards.
Also look at the things that maybe didn’t turn out how you expected. Did things end up turning out better?
Journaling is a great way to take note of the things you are grateful for and to clear your head.
Write down what you are happy about, what is bothering you, what you would like to be better in your life, things that are going amazingly well.
Get yourself a really nice journal or notebook (you can get some lovely ones sometimes in TKMaxx or look out for one if you are at a market.
When the world food market was on Sauchiehall St at the the September weekend there was a couple of craft stalls and one had beautiful notebooks.
Oprah apparently keeps all of her gratitude journals and pulls them out when she needs a pick me up or inspiration. If it is good enough for Oprah, its good enough for us!
