How Many?

Following on from yesterday’s email about detoxing, juicing and smoothies…

It always surprises me the look on people’s faces when I suggest to them that they need to eat more than 7 serves of vegetables and fruit a day…

They look at me like I am trying to punish them, like I have told them that they need to commit some horrific crime or that all the fun in their life is about to be over…

I am not suggesting it to be mean, or to take the fun away… what I am suggesting it for is to help (all of you) to be healthier, which helps you be happier, which helps you lead better, fun filled, exciting lives.

Yesterday I said you can have these in your smoothies, juices, you can make soup (one bowl is a one serve – Sorry mum, I know you like to think that it’s more), make curries and stews and throw in some peas, carrots, onion, sweet potato, butternut squash, celery, broccoli… any veg you like. It will bulk up your meals (making them cheaper per serve) and get me and the doctor off your back…

Remember, eating healthy isn’t a punishment, I am not telling you not to eat the occasional treat or snack.

Like in Monday’s email about changing your mindset, look at being healthy as something you get to do rather than what you have got to do…

If you are today not eating any veg at all then I appreciate 7 portions is a big step… go for 3 a day for the rest of the week and increase by another 1 ever few days…

I will share with you a lovely smoothie recipe on Saturday to help you on your way

With healthy love
