Even if it is 1 or 2 of the things from the list that is better than none.

If you read the emails every day and thought, yeah I must do that but haven’t got round to doing it yet then I am going to ask you this:

What is stopping you from looking after yourself? Why do you not think you are important enough?

If you need more accountability then maybe you need to sign up for the Warrior Woman Project…

Embrace Strength

We are nearly at the end of self-care month already, it feels like I was only just introducing it to you.

Day 30 embrace strength

If we are doing everything from day 1 through to day 29 and embracing each one, then that is what day 30 is about.

Over the last 29 days we have understood our fears, realised our dreams, set our goals and got our shit together to be organised for whatever life throws at us.

We have learned that we need to prioritise ourselves first so we can be more to give more.

We take time out so that we get more done – laws of time make this hard for us to understand but it works.

A clear happy head is a productive one.

We have learned to quiet the negative voice in our heads that makes us doubt ourselves and learned to tell the right people about the dreams and goals we have so the wrong ones don’t help us run away from them.

We have the strength, we can be a Warrior Woman.

Breathe

Day 29 Breathe

That’s right, take a big deep breath. Inhale, fill your lungs all the way to the very bottom. Exhale, empty as much of the air out as you can. Repeat 6 times.

Breathe she says, we do that all day every day without thinking about it…

When you do think about it you will notice that most of the time we have a really shallow breath only in to the top of our chests.

Breathing right to the bottom of the lungs does a few things, (I am going to get geeky here):

It gets more oxygen in to your system.

More oxygen means better blood flow.

Better blood flow means more nutrients can be taken to your muscles and organs to help them work better and more of the toxins can be taken away.

^^^ This can help boost your immune system helping fight off illness

More oxygen goes to the brain helping it clear.

After 6 breaths notice how you feel.

Relaxed, calm, clear headed.

If you are in bed trying unsuccessfully to sleep, this can help send you off in to some heavy z’s.

This breathing will also fit in to your meditation so you might already have this one nailed.

Take some time to breathe

Create a happy space

Your environment has a massive impact on your mood and what actions you take not only in your work, your personal life but can also affect how you eat and drink.

So, day 28 we want to create a happy space

Have a space that you can go and chill out. You might want to read, listen to music, meditate, or just get away from everything else.

Decorate it in a way that makes you happy, it might be a certain colour, have loads of pillows, photo’s, books, TV, computer (that you do not work on) or it might be a really clear empty space just with a chair that you like to sit in.

Maybe there are candles or oil diffusers that have your favourite smells. This space is just for you. It needs to be a place you want to sit, that makes you feel happy. No work, just time out.

Maybe you like to have vision boards that these can hang there. Maybe you want to have big fluffy pillows or bean bags you can just flop in to…

Let your imagination go wild and creative then make time to sit there.

Kitchen Afternoon

Another Monday rolls around and the week ahead is a busy one.

Are you prepared for the week ahead?

Meals and snack ready and waiting for you to grab and run.

If you are thinking aw crap, I am eating on the run or I will grab something from the supermarket on the way home then you might want to schedule Day 27 in to your week and have a kitchen afternoon.

Working from home, working shifts, in the office all day or on the road, you need to get your shit together and be organised.

You want to eat clean so you don’t need to worry about your health and waistline which means you need to be prepared.

You need to set aside an afternoon somewhere in your week that you get this done.

Roast up the veggies, slow cook stews, soups and curries, bake or make snacks, get prepared for the week ahead.

I don’t like faffing about, chop and go is good for me, so simple recipes that can be frozen to be heated later are ideal for me.

Every week, this is about you, your health, your energy, how you feel about yourself when you look in the mirror, your hair, your skin, the compliments when people see you looking better, your confidence.

Self-care month is about you.

Push your boundaries

Day 26 Push your boundaries

If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you. By now you have your fears, your dreams and your goals.

We like what it is we know, life can be good here, it’s easy here, it’s comfortable.

But maybe it could all be better, maybe it could be more exciting, maybe it could be happier.

Overcoming your fears is pushing your boundaries can take us to a place where we want to run away and hide, but overcoming the fear gives you a sense of achievement and boosts your confidence.

You learn lots about yourself, about your capabilities, your resilience, about strengths you might not have known you had.

Don’t keep doing the same thing every day but expecting different results or keep on just because it’s what you always do (and is now easy).

Break a habit, make a change, do something that challenges you and will give you a result that will improve your world. Even if it doesn’t work, you now know a way not to do again.

Whether it is changing career, losing weight, getting fitter or getting happy, you need to push yourself outside your comfort zone.

That is where change will happen.

Remember, you don’t need to do it alone, you can ask for help, find the person who will push you and support you and be there to hold your hand if you need it.

We all need help with some stuff.

Smile All Day

Day 25 Smile all day

Just the act of smiling lifts your mood. Even when you don’t feel like it, having a smile can change your whole day.

I often speak to you about smiling first, making that initial connection, even if you don’t get a smile back, doesn’t mean that the delayed reaction from them hasn’t had a positive impact on their life.

Giving someone else a smile is infectious, when they smile back you have just given them a gift that money can’t buy.

Not only have you not totally ignored them because your head isn’t down looking at your phone, you have actually acknowledged their existence.

Some people will totally miss it, wrapped up in their own world or not expecting it, those people don’t worry about, don’t let it take your off your stride.

Smile at the next person.

Now, you don’t want to look like the joker or be the ‘crazy lady’ that people talk about (or maybe you do).

Practice your smile, open, friendly, natural and sincere.

Start in the mirror, practice with people you know and anyone you make eye contact with.

If you wake up in not the best mood, put your favourite tune on, have a dance, that will lift your mood and let you smile.

Then keep that state and pass it on.

Write your goals

You have written your fears, and then written your dreams.

You have compared them and worked out how to get your dreams by working through your fears.

Now Day 24, it’s time to write your goals.

I know some of you will have done this before, I ask you to look at your world often and work on them.

We haven’t gone through this order before though.

Did you write goals before and think ‘well that’s me written them’ and then not done anything about them? I have done that before too. Writing it down, you have ticked the box, some might happen, some might not…

Now, we don’t have the excuse of our fears.

We have seen them in black and white, we know that they are just thoughts in our head.

The goals get us to the dream.

I have read The Alchemist a few times now, I have given it as gifts to friends and I highly recommend you read this book, it is an inspirational story about a young boy who is following his dreams.

I don’t want to tell you too much about it because it will ruin it for you, but read it.

Live for your dream, remember, your head is not full of broken biscuits and the ceiling can be broken through.

Set aside time today or over the weekend to really think about it, set the goals and make a plan of what you need to do to achieve the goals.

Also think about why it is you want to achieve these goals, when you know your dreams it can make it easier to keep moving in the right direction or getting back up and changing direction when it doesn’t work out how you plan.

In the Warrior Woman Project we have a whole module specifically working on goals and eliciting the how and why to help you get exactly what it is you want.

Keep taking those steps forward and don’t think that you need to settle for what seems to have landed on your plate if it’s not what you want.

Treat your face

Do you love yourself yet? Are you still saying it over and over? Do you believe it yet? Keep going, even when you do get it and you do believe it, never forget it.

Today is an easy one, Day 23 Treat your face.

A week ago you got to focus on pampering yourself, you should still have that scheduled in as a weekly event.

Make sure there is a face mask included in that. The skin you are in is the only one you have and you want to look after it. And your face is on display all the time.

You can make up a facemask at home.

Oats and honey

Avocado

Cold camomile tea – I like to make my tea, drink it, put the bags to the side then use them once they are cool. It is particularly good if you have eczema or any skin breakouts for calming them down.

Sit back, mask on, feet up, chill out and let the mask do its work.

I like to use coconut oil to moisturise after.

It doesn’t need to be expensive lotions and potions you use…

Love the skin you are in

Is It Love?

We are our own biggest critics.

How many times a day do you give yourself in to trouble, or put yourself down and say something nasty that you wouldn’t say to anyone else?

We all do it. We are so mean to ourselves it’s not funny.

I would like to think that if you have been reading my emails for a while now or have signed up for the Warrior Woman Project that you are much more aware of your words and how you speak to yourself, but, I do know that you will sometimes slip up and give yourself a hard time. Remember, if you had a ‘friend’ that spoke to you like you speak to you, you would not spend time with them.

We can’t get away from ourselves, we are there in our heads 24/7. Today, day 22 you need to say ‘I love you’.

TO YOURSELF.

Say it over and over and over. Say it until you believe it.

If you don’t love you, then you are going to struggle to have people in your life that love you the way you should be loved.

Self-care is about self-love, you treating you like you are the queen of your own empire (which you are).

I have an awesome t-shirt that says ‘fall in love with someone who treats you like Kanye treats Kanye’.

Kanye West is the king of making himself number 1 in his world. And look at how successful he is. Some would say he is arrogant and puts himself first.

I don’t know him personally, but he may come across that way to some people. But, people that know how to put themselves first are able to give the best of themselves to those around them. They are happiest within themselves and the world they have created for them. It’s not about being arrogant, it’s about putting your wants and needs first.

Telling yourself ‘I love you’ and believing it, is your first step in respecting yourself and allowing you to prioritise your needs and wants and making you happy.

‘I love you’
